History and Development

The company JaDecor started in 1972 in Germany with the successful introduction of a natural material to cover walls and ceilings. The aim was to communicate warmth, security and aesthetic beauty in a hectic and technical world, in order to create a relaxing room experience with beautiful walls.

JaDecor looked for a way to equip the nearest environment of man – a room – so, that individual perceptions of beauty are matched
with a simultaneously radiation of well-being and security.
JaDecor found a solution in the positive characteristics of natural cotton. The unique natural wall covering is based on the versatile nature of this natural material.
A long lasting research and development period concluded that cotton, when dispersed with water, fully releases its natural characteristics which can be combined with other natural materials. This was only one piece of the success of this product.
In addition, the special combination of a dense, closely interlinked natural fibre structure results, when applied to a wall, in a breathable covering which regulates the humidity of the air.
Through numerous experiments and a long series of tests, the right choice was made to create a robust raw material with a combination of high-quality, natural and aesthetically appealing structures. Coupled with a sophisticated production technique, the aim was achieved.

Under new management since January 2004, the company JaDecor GmbH has continued the success story by delivering constant quality.
We place very high demands on our personnel and material.
Attesting to this is: the renewed certificate from the Institute for Construction Ecology Rosenheim (Institut für Baubiologie Rosenheim (IBR)) with the award “Certified and Recommended by IBR” as a “Natural Product” and the assigned “General Approved Test Certificate by the Building Authorities” of the accredited laboratory for the fire reaction of building material (FireLabs) in Berlin. The quality of our products is continuously being externally controlled.

Over the last 37 years, more than 1800 businesses in Germany now sell JaDecor products and have been trained in its application.
The continuously increasing number of world wide JaDecor stockists abroad is the result of this success in Germany. The continued high
quality of the wall- and ceiling-cover Sajade has significantly contributed to this success.
